The members of Senior Citizen Association, Belapur are breathing a sigh of relief as finally their demand for a community centre at CBD Belapur seems to be taking form.
It may be recalled that media had aired a report on the issues faced by the members of Senior Citizen Association, Belapur who were threatening to go on an uninterrupted hunger strike before the NMMC headquarters if their demands are not met. The members had demanded that the promise given to them years back of developing a day care centre for them should be fulfilled. That time, speaking to media, members of the association informed us that Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had assured them on October 1 that the construction activity of the center would begin within two days.
Fulfilling their demands, NMMC last week allotted a 600 sq ft place for these senior citizens. He also informed that Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had even allotted a place for their office.
